Dr. Jalan Burton

DR. J | PEDIATRICIAN AND MOM

“When families are fully supported, they thrive. My goal is to help families optimize their health, happiness, and peace.”

  • Dr. J, as she loves to be called, is a Pediatrician, wife, and mother of three with over a decade of experience in well and sick child care, complex care, children with special needs, public health, youth development and managed care.

Dr. J is a proud University of Virginia graduate (Wahoowa!). She attended Columbia University for her Master of Public Health degree and The George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at the University of North Carolina’s Pediatric Primary Care Program.

Through Healthy Home Pediatrics, Dr. J collaborates with families to provide comprehensive primary care that integrates traditional evidence-based interventions with customized plans that prioritize healthy foods, quality sleep, integrative medicine, and healthy family routines.

When Dr. J is not providing excellent patient care she is spending time with her husband and their three children (2 boys and a baby girl). She is actively involved in her community as a volunteer Clinical Instructor at The George Washington University School of Medicine, local Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and Community Association.

Dr. J enjoys listening to podcasts, cooking, urban gardening, and exercising.

Nurse Kimmie, Preventative Care Nurse Manager and Mom

Nurse Kim Duncan

NURSE KIMMIE | NURSE AND MOM

“Families are so busy these days, they are constantly being pulled in different directions. We are committed to partnering with families so they can make the healthiest decisions resulting in the happiest families.”

  • Nurse Kimberly, or Nurse Kimmie as she is called, is very passionate about holistic practices as well as vaccine compliance. Through her over 20 years of experience as a nurse she is able to understand and empathize with parents from all walks of life. Nurse Kimmie has extensive experience in pediatrics, family medicine, and ambulatory care. In her role at Healthy Home Pediatrics, she helps coordinate vaccine and school compliance with the physician team.

Nurse Kimmie is able to empathize with the parent who is hesitant about giving their children vaccines or the parent who wants nothing to do with vaccines. Nurse Kimmie has learned that through taking time to explain how vaccines work and how they help prevent serious illness in kids, that many parents are open to discussing vaccines more. She has learned that families simply want to feel listened to, respected, and valued.

Nurse Kimmie has been a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for over 20 years and has extensive experience in pediatrics, family practice, and ambulatory care. She has worked for some of the best practices in the DMV such as Kaiser Permanente and Children’s National Medical Center. Kimberly is a well seasoned and knowledgeable nurse.

She is married with one daughter in college and one son in grade school. In her spare time she likes to garden and spend her time with her family.
